Susan A. Cooney
Belfast - Susan Cooney began drawing the coast of Maine in 1999 and has continued to focus on Maine islands for the last two decades. In her early days, she worked out of a tiny storage shed at Roke’s Storage farm in Camden, Maine. In February of 2008, she opened her current studio in downtown Belfast and the following year had her first art opening at Archipelago Gallery at the Island Institute in Rockland, Maine. Continuing for the last few years, she has an annual summer show at Dark Harbor Gallery on Islesboro, Maine showcasing her new work created over the previous winter. Based out of Belfast, Maine her goal is to share her art, and to one day provide her customers with a piece of work, whether an original drawing, framed print, or unframed print, that evokes a sense of Maine to cherish and remember.
