Deborah Jellison
Searsport, Maine - Deborah Jellison's paintings and mixed-media pieces draw on her diverse and ever-evolving techniques and materials. By overlapping gold, texture, and pattern over landscape or figure, she tells lush visual stories from an ever-evolving personal mythology.
Each barren tree against the sky and every fractal shape formed in ice suggest repeating forms that create patterns. Born in Northern Maine and currently residing in midcoast, Jellison's work is deeply inspired by a lifetime spent in wooded landscapes. For her, the natural environment is home—a sacred place which provides continual inspiration and materials for her studio practice.
