Topsham - I earned my BFA from U-Maine where I studied a variety of mediums, but fell in love with printmaking. My professor, Susan Groce, was a wonderful mentor for me, and I enjoyed playing with multi-layered panels, exploring texture and color. I have always been drawn to natural patterns in nature, and have woven this into my paintings, prints, pottery, and now stained glass.
I love gardening, and the many colors and patterns inspire me on a daily basis. I love to incorporate stones and natural objects into my work, using them to create flowing, organic patterns. I am fortunate to live in the beautiful state of Maine and like to spend as much time as possible exploring natural places, especially the ocean. My favorite place is Popham Beach, especially in the winter when I have the beach to myself.
I am the daughter of a 5th generation master joiner cabinet maker from Denmark. My dad taught me so much about artistic expression, how to use tools, patience, and pride in craftsmanship. His spirit continues to motivate and inspire me everyday.
